With the quote “Nothing happens when you sit at home. I always make it a point to carry a camera with me at all times…I just shoot at what interests me at that moment - of Elliott Erwitt “, I inspire myself to keep shooting. I always try to connect with the world around me through travelling within my country or abroad. I get fascinated by things and people on the streets wherever I go.
On my visit to Israel I came across a market and decided to photograph it. I fell in love with markets since then. I had so much fun doing those photographs. Repeatedly looking at those images was like music to my soul.
In “Markets of Suriname” you can find the newest images added to my portfolio. With these images I would love to guide you through the markets of Suriname. I want these markets to stay in your dream when you go to sleep, the passion of the people who do their work, the fish and meat, vegetables, clothes, bags, food and visitors at the markets. I want you to experience what I have experienced, whether you are limited by time to travel to Suriname or not. In some cases I have even tried to express the emotions present at that moment.
With a blend of colors I hope you feel what I have felt, you see what I’ve seen and you experience what I’ve experienced. These are my feelings about my beautiful Suriname. Feel at home while driving through.
